a Union Member
A majority of
the people you work with would have to make an
application to be a member of the BCTGM Union and
pay a small initiation fee. One of our
representatives will be available to discuss the
details of union membership with you and your
co-workers, at your convenience. Once a majority
of the employees have signed membership cards,
the union will prepare and file the proper
documents. You will then be on your way to
becoming a member of the BCTGM Union.

What is the advantage of belonging to the BCTGM
Union?
A: You have your conditions of
employment in a written contract. These

Q:
Are union members the only ones with thier
working conditions covered by a contract?
A:
NO! While the concept was developed by the union
movement, it is used by athletes, entertainers,
and top management. Security in writing is as
important to them as it is to you.
Q:

A:
NO! When you take into account that union members
are 25% more productive than non-union workers.
Sixty-five cents out of every dollar given to
charity comes from union members. Unions make
representation to all levels of government,
promoting a higher standard of living for
everyone - not just their members. Click

Q:
Do all negotiations end up in a strike?
A:
NO! Less than 5% of all negotiations end up with
a strike. The unfortunate part is that the more
than 95% of negotiations that are settled without
a strike are not covered by the news media.
